Ben Hunt
Drummer Teacher Composer
Ben Hunt is a drummer, teacher and composer based in Suffolk. Well known for his style of sonically charged ambience contrasting with heavy impactful rhythms. Ben’s refined technique enables him to hold suspense in precise quiet tones leading to huge cracks of thunder.
After graduating with a first from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, Ben released his first EP ‘Garden Improvisations.’ “The drum kit is an instrument like no other in the diverse range of colours it produces.” This can be heard with gongs being dipped in water, bowed cymbals, shakers taped to drum sticks and a 100 year old bass drum.
This project led him to working with sound designer and composer Frazer Merrick. Together with Frazer, Ben worked in notable venues such as Colchester Arts Centre and a weeks residency in Snape Maltings.

My aim as a teacher is first and foremost making lessons an enjoyable experience for you. Lessons are tailored to your level and what you want to achieve whether that be learning songs, technical exercises, grades or even improvising.
Terms and Conditions
Cancellations must be within 24 hours notice, any cancellation less than this may still be charged the full lesson fee.
Any student who is late is still charged the full lesson fee.
